Its been a cold few days and weeks and I've needed little excuse to get the oven on and warm the kitchen up.
We eat what can seem like an endless amount of bread in this house. The kids have it for packed lunch and toast for breakfast and toast as a snack if we've run out of popcorn. So, as its such a big part of their diets I try and make it as often as I can. Ideally I'll use fresh yeast if I can get it (free from supermarkets with bakery departments) and that weird instant stuff if I can't. With the effort involved, which is minimal really as my kitchen aid (best present my dad every bought me) does most of the work, I bake a minimum of double the recipe and bake and freeze the rest. These are some mini rolls I made for bacon sarnies.
Homemade bread and bacon sarnies what could be better for warming up.
